Mental Health Support Team

Who are the MHST?

Orleans Park has access to the MHST (Mental Health Support Teams), a school based CAMHS offering for early intervention and prevention work to support positive mental health and wellbeing. The team works in partnership with the school to offer a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing.

They work within both primary and secondary schools across the borough providing evidence-based interventions to support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. They work closely with our Mental Health Lead to develop our whole school approach to mental health, providing consultations and sign-posting guidance.

MHST at Orleans Park

At Orleans Park, the MHST works directly with young people with mild to moderate anxiety or low mood. They can run targeted groups around subjects such as exam anxiety, improving low mood, emotional distress tolerance and emotional regulation. They also offer assemblies and workshops on mental health issues.

The MHST regularly offers online webinars for families, covering a variety of topics related to young people’s emotional wellbeing.  They have also hosted in-person coffee mornings at our school, focusing on subjects of interest to families such as screen time, friendship groups, and transitions. Information about future events will be shared with families in due course

Referrals

Students can make a self-referral for their emotional needs to be discussed with their school in a consultation. Click on the link below for details of how to make a self-referral:

If you have concerns about your child's mental health, please reach out first to their Tutor or Head of Year, who can then refer your concerns to the most appropriate member of staff.
